Maddie had a very tough first year. First, while playing, she somehow broke one of her toes, necessitating a long recovery time in which she was unable to run and play and do other normal "puppy" things.
Once recovered from the broken toe, we noticed a slight limp and discovered that she apparently had torn a ligament in her knee. According to the renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brown, the damage was done most likely during her play while jumping to catch a frisbee. He performed surgery to her knee and there followed months of recovery and rehabilitation.
Maddie came to us and opined that maybe she would like to stay at home so we made the sad decision to refrain from showing this promising bitch. She is healthy and happy staying at home and does not regret her decision to forego a career as a "show" dog.
